Notated Theatrical Dances Catalog
Discover the richness of the DNB’s Notated Theatrical Dances Collection, one of our largest and most utilized collections.
With hundreds of scores spanning ballet, modern dance, hip hop, folk dance, musicals, Noh, and more, this collection offers a diverse array of notated works.
The Dance Notation Bureau Library houses the world’s largest collection of original Laban-annotated dance scores. This Notated Theatrical Dances (NTD) Collection catalog represents a selection of the most frequently requested materials used by educators, stagers, choreographers, and researchers worldwide. While it is not a comprehensive inventory of the DNB’s entire collection, it highlights key works in Labanotation.
Some of the scores listed in this catalog may be incomplete, but they are included for their potential value to dance educators, scholars, and performers. Older scores may not fully align with contemporary notation standards, and some are student projects or are not available to the public. These inclusions reflect the diversity, historical significance, and unique scope of the DNB’s holdings.
