Online Digital Archive

The Dance Notation Bureau (DNB) is pleased to announce the third phase of Online Digital Archive, generously sponsored in part by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.   A total of twenty dance excerpts have been added to the DNB’s YouTube Channel and their corresponding Labanotation excerpts added to the DNB website. The new additions cover both ballet and modern works by world-renowned choreographers, such as Isadora Duncan, Choo San Goh, Hanya Holm, Doris Humphrey, Murray Louis, Moses Pendleton, Helen Tamiris, among others.

The aim for the Online Digital Archive is to provide visual references to our Notated Theatrical Dances Collection, which has an online catalog.

The Dance Notation Bureau Library has more than 820 notated theatrical dance scores in its Archive.  Many of the dances are available for educational and research purposes.  Scores used for performance may be arranged through a contract with the DNB.  For educational and research inquiries, please contact library@dancenotation.org; for staging inquiries, billkiley@dancenotation.org
