Adopt a score as a gift, or for yourself, from the collection at the Dance Notation Bureau. You will ensure that it will continue to be available for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Adopting one of DNB’s scores will help underwrite housing and maintenance costs. For each score you adopt, a certificate will be sent to the person in whose name you adopted it to inform him or her of your thoughtful gift. A notice will be placed in every copy of the score stating: “This score has been adopted, ensuring it can be housed and disseminated by the Dance Notation Bureau for continued performance, study and enjoyment by audiences around the world.” This will be followed by a list of adopters and the adoption periods.

Let us help you select a dance. Adopt a work you or your family member or friend has danced in, staged, or enjoyed on stage. Among the works to choose from are Alvin Ailey's A Lark Ascending, Frederick Ashton's Illuminations, George Balanchine's Serenade, Laura Dean's Fire, Agnes de Mille's Rodeo, Isadora Duncan's Brahms Waltzes, Michel Fokine's Les Sylphides, Jose Greco's En el Cortijo, Doris Humphrey's Passacaglia and Fugue, Robert Joffrey's Pas des Deesses, Bill T. Jones's Fever Swamp, Kurt Jooss's Green Table, Jose Limon's The Moor's Pavane, Eugene Loring's Billy The Kid, Murray Louis's Bach Suite, Leonide Massine's Parade, Donald McKayle's Rainbow 'round My Shoulder, Alwin Nikolais' Tower, David Parsons' Caught, Marius Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty, Anna Sokolow's Rooms, Paul Taylor's Esplanade, Antony Tudor's Jardin aux Lilas, Charles Weidman's Brahms Waltzes, and many more.
