Scott Sutherland
I'm an consulting technologist, recently moved to Seattle,
doing some freelance work for various clients, and keeping
my eyes open for the right job.
Technologist?
I started out as a programmer, but discovered many years ago
that the human aspects of technology were much more interesting
to me than the technical ones. I still enjoy programming,
and often cobble together something for a client or as a
proof-of-concept, but I do far more technology direction
and program or project management now than coding. My greatest
skills lie in the middle ground between technology and design,
in the way that product/project goals and constraints dictate
technology choices, and technology
choices also affect the design of the end product. Directing
that give and take, in line with the organization's needs
is were I can bring the most value to an employer.
